The Question is:
I have a customer with an Alpha 4100 and at times all users terminals will
freeze. On the console there is a message "Bad License Management" At this
time the console terminal is the only device that can access the system. It
is not reaching the limit
of their user license, but 1 thing that is odd/rare is they have a base
OPENVMS-ALPHA license and 6 additionals (ADL). wasnt sure if i could do a
license start to get things going....any clues
is the license database corruupt??? if they shutdown all is well.
The Answer is :
The OpenVMS Wizard cannot locate any "Bad License Management" message
anywhere in OpenVMS, and will assume that this message is either not
from OpenVMS itself but is generated from an application, or that this
message is paraphrased from the full and actual message text that is
displayed by OpenVMS.
Please contact the Compaq Customer Support Center for assistance with
this, as this problem could easily be cased by a hardware or a software
problem -- without further details, the OpenVMS Wizard is unable to
provide a more specific answer.
