The Question is:
We are running TCPIP 5.0A on a clustered pair of alphas. Initiating FTP
sessions between the two cluster members is as you would expect (ie fast).
However, initiating FTP sessions from NT workstations to the alphas is very
slow ( can take up to 1 minute )
, even when address resolution isn't involved (ie session is requested from the
NT workstation using IP address).
Is there anything I can do to speed the process up ?
The Answer is :
Um, replace the Windows NT boxes with OpenVMS?
Seriously, without a whole lot more information on the configuration
and potentially without network traces, an answer is not particarly
easy to provide. Try SET PROTCOL TCP/NODELAY?
