Lawyers, Patents and OpenVMS Internals?

» close window

The Question is:

Hi Wizard, I'd like to use material from the VMS Internals and Data Structures
book as evidence of prior art to invalidate a software patent filed in 1986.
This concerns the way VMS pages global sections. I have the version 5.2
 edition dated 1991.

My question is, when was the VMS Internals book first published, and what was
the title and ISBN number? I imagine the book is out of print but this
 information would help my case.

Thank you very much. Trevor Bartlett.

The Answer is :

The OpenVMS Wizard will endevour to update the posting rules for the
Ask The Wizard area, as questions involving patent challenges and such
are (well) outside the purview of the OpenVMS Wizard. For what should
be obvious reasons, the OpenVMS Wizard is not in a position to act as
a corporate spokeswizard on such topics.
