Problems configuring TCP/IP SMTP?

The Question is:

 
 
TCPIP is already setup in out Alpha, but SMTP is disabled. I enabled it using
 TCPIP$CONFIG. I tried sending smtp mail to both local user and remote user.
 The smtp email to local user is okay but the smtp email to the remote user
 returns an error "TCPIP-E-
SMTP_UNKHST" remote host unknown ...
 
The help/mess command does not give an action suggestion. What did I missed in
 setting up the SMTP service?
