The Question is:
I'm trying to install an Intraserver 4280 SCSI controller in a PC164 500mHz
alpha with little success. The controller is recognized as are the devices
(both narrow and wide) but I get an error "%PKA0, OFFLINE. ROM checksum read
error". I attempted to thi
rd party boot using -fl 0,80000 and proper floppy and get errors "Unable to
locate SYS$CPU_ROUTINES_1A05.exe" and "Unable to locate FIRM_REV_MATRIX.DAT"
when attempting to load the third party drivers. Is there a patch I can
install to make this controlle
r bootable? Note: PKW is V2.0.21 from Intraserver. Thanks
The Answer is :
OpenVMS Alpha is not supported on the AlphaPC 164SX, AlphaPC 164SX,
or other members of the AlphaPC series. OpenVMS Alpha is supported
on the EB164, which is a PCI reference board.
Please contact Intraserver for assistance in configuring the
Intraserver SCSI controller, as the OpenVMS Wizard is entirely
unfamiliar with this hardware, with its software and hardware
requirements, and with what it might emulate.
