The Question is:
DECnet-Plus over IP and backtranslation failures...
Some sites are connected via DECnet-Plus over IP, all running independant local
namespaces; searchpath: domain, local. BIND is set-up, including working
reverse lookups. What needs to be done to avoid the
"Terminal name: _RTAx:, node.dom.CH::username
...Status: %IPC-E-BCKTRNSFAIL, failure on the back translate address request"
(and similar messages while SET HOST node.dom.CH)
No luck browsing the DECnet-Plus and TCP/IP docs...
Any hint welcome!
-Kurt.
The Answer is :
The OpenVMS FAQ section "MISC6. What does "failure on back translate
address request" mean?" might be of interest, as might topics here
such as 2530 and 3793.
