Reconfiguring an OpenVMS Cluster (root)?

The Question is:

 
I inherited a 2-node cluster with roots sys0,sys1 sys10 (better) and sys11
 (faster). Since tree type commands traverse ALL roots, how can I remove roots
 10 & 11 safely?
