SLS BACKUP INIT density (IVDENS) errors?

» close window

The Question is:

I'm trying various tape (TK89K) operations e.g. INIT, BACKUP etc. via SLS v2.9C
 clients using STORAGE commands.

The results are inconsistent, but I'm getting an unacceptably large number of
failures, where denisty is reported as the problem.

e.g.
INIT-F-IVDENS, invalid density

BACKUP-F-POSITERR, error postioning <saveset>
-SYSTEM-F-IVDENS, invalid density.

The SLS (RDF) tape server has not had any of these problems, so I assume it is
 a RDF problem?

I have applied DEC-AXPVMS-VMS721_UPDATE-V0100--4
Any suggestions?
Thanks
