The Question is:
We are installing Memory Channel 2nd generation
and on an ES40 cluster. We have a problem where
the cluster communications is still going through NI and our MCA0 device on the
second
node shows as /NOAVAILABLE. The PMA0 device
is what our cluster comm is going through. All
pins and jumpers are set properly, and mc_diag
and mc_cable came up clean. How can we get MCA0
device to come back available?
The Answer is :
Memory Channel devices can appear as unavailable, and not as
online or offline -- please check SDA for the device status.
(The DCL SHOW DEVICE command does not currently know how to
correctly display the memory channel status. SDA does.)
Please check with your hardware support organization around
the necessary cabling and hub configuration, and the jumper
settings for the particular Memory Channel configuration.
