FTP and filename corruptions?

The Question is:

 
Hi,
 
I am encountering a filename corruption when using the COPY/FTP command to
 transfer a simple text file from one Alpha to another...
If I specify the VMS file version number at source, but not at destination and
 the filename is a string of >10 characters, the destination filename becomes
 corrupted during the transfer.
E.g. COPY/FTP/LOG 1234567890.TXT;1 NODE2"SYSTEM
 PASSWORD"::SYS$SYSROOT:[SYSMGR]1234567890.TXT

  Please upgrade to TCP/IP Services V5.0A or later.
 
  If the problem persists, please contact the Compaq Customer
