The Question is:
I had a Decserver 700 replaced by service today. When I went into NCP and
define node decsv4 hardware address **-**-**-** to replace the old one (name
of decsv4) when I tried to connect node decsv4 it said that Console carrier
protocol not available - al
ready in use
What should I do to get around this so I can reconfigure the decserver?
The Answer is :
You will need to determine which MOP mechanism is configured
and in use (DECnet Phase IV, DECnet-Plus, or LANCP), and then
use the associated appropriate command interface to connect to
the DECserver via MOP. (The OpenVMS Wizard guesses that the
system is not using DECnet Phase IV for MOP operations.)
If this guess is incorrect, please contact the Compaq Customer
Support Center.
