The Question is:
I am having trouble setting up DECnet. It will not do a 'set host 0' to
itself. I get the following error:
%SYSTEM-F-NOSUCHOBJ, network object is unknown at remote node
I can, however, set host to another node without any problems from this
system, but the remote nodes cannot set host to it, although it is defined
as a node on those systems. Is there some object missing and how do
I correct this?
thanks,
Curt from Ohio
The Answer is :
It would appear that DECnet servers have not been configured on
the target, or that your local node's network database is messed
up, or that there is a DECdns error of some sort, or that the
DECnet-Plus installation is incomplete or otherwise corrupted.
As a test, shut down DECnet and restart it -- this will perform
some addressing-related checks.
Please contact the Compaq Customer Support Center. Expect to be
asked about the DECnet phase and the local network configuration,
and if you have the current DECnet ECO kit installed (if any).
