The Question is:
Ive been searching for over two hours with no luck. I need to test 36
DECServer 90L Plus servers. I cannot find any way to perform a test. All I
need to do is to test to see if there is actually a divice on the other side
of the LAT port. Please help
The Answer is :
This is not specifically an OpenVMS question.
Possibilities include checking the modem control signals or sending
out an ANSI device inquiry sequence and (hopefully) receiving a
corresponding answer from the device.
Serial devices, of course, may or may not be easily "visible", and
may or may not use (or support) the modem signals or the device
inquiry and answerback sequences.
