The Question is:
While investigating Y2K status it was discovered that several layered
products had been overlooked. My question is does OPEN3D powerstorm replace
all the previous OPEN3D components like MIT PEXlib, Open GL, PCM and IDL,
PEXlib, PGX, X multibuffering, ZLXp
. Also if it does why does DASC still show the old versions.
The Answer is :
Open3D provides OpenGL support for OpenVMS for specific graphics
devices, and it provides 2D software which in some cases replaces
base OpenVMS functionality and is sometimes the sole support source.
The Open3D support is device-specific, and explicitly does not remove
support for any other extensions, nor does it remove older device
support that might be present on an OpenVMS system.
