How do I set default file permissions?
 


The Answer is :

 
  First, please acquire access to and please read the OpenVMS User's Guide,
  and -- for more detailed security-related questions, the OpenVMS Guide to
  System Security.  These manuals will answer various common questions, and
  will introduce you to OpenVMS, and to OpenVMS components and commands.
 
  For this question, please see the commands:
 
    HELP SET PROTECTION/DEFAULT
 
    HELP SET SECURITY/PROTECTION
 
  Depending on whether you want to set the default file protection for the
  process or for the file.  Also see the OpenVMS Guide to System Security
  for information on the default protection access control list entry type.
