Ask the Wizard Questions

Fortran 7.0 run on OVMS Alpha 6.2?

The Question is:

Does the new Digital Fortran V7.0 run on OpenVMS Alpha
version 6.2?

We were going to PURCHASE Fortran 90 to test under 6.2
to shake out any bugs; then upgrade to 7.0 by year end. If
the new Fortran 7.0 runs under 6.2 then we do not have to
purchase another compiler. True?

We already have OpenVMS Alpha waiting in a box. I assume
that CD or the NAS CD has the compiler on it??

The Answer is:

Digital Fortran 7.0 supports OpenVMS Alpha 6.1 or later.

The compiler product is on the Software Product Library CD-ROM that was
released in June 1996. I am not aware of a "NAS CD", so I don't know how to
respond to your question about that.
