Ask the Wizard Questions

Update: Version date

The Question is:

I work at a software company, I am doing some research for our 3rd
party relations program to ensure we support your product's latest
versions. I hope you can help me out with some questions on OpenVMS
that I couldn't find in FAQ. Here is the information I am seeking:

What date did the latest release level (7.0) come out?
What are the back release levels that you currently ship
at customer request? What date did they each come out?

I appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you.

The Answer is:

OpenVMS 7.0 began shipping in January 1996. OpenVMS 6.2 is available as well
on when purchased on CD-ROM - it first shipped in June 1995. Most earlier
versions are available on special order - the full list would be quite long,
possibly going back to 1978, but this service can be expensive.
