Ask the Wizard Questions

Security: Remove access to FTP on per user basis

The Question is:

I need to be able to disable the FTP Server for certian
users (not hosts or networks) when using UCX 3.2.

There doesn't seem to be an easy or straightforward way
of doing this and I would like some suggestions.

BTW - Disabling the Server and making users use the FTP
client is not an option at my site.

The Answer is:

Disable access (turn off network access, etc) on the user's username
on the target system, on the system the ftp server is running on.

Put an explicit ACL on the FTP image. Remove TMPMBX from the user's
    privilege.
