Ask the Wizard Questions

DECwindows: Sound on AlphaStation

The Question is:

How can I use the Soundcard in my AlphaStaion 200/166
with OpenVms ??

Thanks

The Answer is:

Multimedia Services for OpenVMS V1.4 supports the sound card
on Alphastation workstations. This product provides a new
version of DECsound, some other audio sample applications, and
a programming interface using the WAVE API that Microsoft
    uses.

V1.4 runs under OpenVMS Alpha V6.1-1H2 and V6.2. I'm told that
a version that supports OpenVMS Alpha V7.0 is in the works.

The V1.4 kit is a port of the Multimedia Services for Digital Unix
V1.4. Later versions of the Unix code base are being ported to
    VMS, as well.
