Ask the Wizard Questions

UCX: Link UCX C example

The Question is:

Hi,
I have problems to link the UCX-examples. I can'T find
UCX$IPC.OLB. I use ucx 3.3

The Answer is:

Assuming this is a complete installation of UCX on a recent version of
OpenVMS Alpha running DEC C, and assuming you are trying to follow the
"To link in VAXC/VMS" directions listed in the comments in the UCX
examples, you will want to look for UCX$IPC_SHR.EXE, the UCX$IPC
shareable image, in SYS$SHARE:. (This shareable image is available on
both OpenVMS VAX and OpenVMS Alpha.)

The LINK options file must contain the line:

	sys$share:ucx$ipc_shr/share

The "sys$share:vaxcrtl.exe/share" line is not necessary under OpenVMS
    Alpha.

This same options file can be used under OpenVMS VAX, and -- with DEC
C for OpenVMS VAX -- the "sys$share:vaxcrtl.exe/share" line is also
    not needed/required.
