Ask the Wizard Questions

C Language: nfbdef in DEC C

The Question is:

I am porting a DECNET application from VAXC to DECC on
OpenVMS alpha. I cannot find nfbdef.h or any other header
that defines the symbols and offsets for declaring a
network name. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The Answer is:

                 -< "#include " statement compiles >-

We'll assume you understand the method by which DEC C locates the
necessary include files, and the use of ALPHA$LIBRARY:, and the
contents of the OpenVMS Alpha SYS$LIB_C.TLB and SYS$STARLET_C.TLB
   C definition libraries.

Having just tried a test on a local OpenVMS Alpha V6.2 system running
the DEC C V5.2 compiler, nfbdef.h is present and C programs that issue
an "#include " statement compile correctly, and we are at a
loss to explain what you are seeing.

Are other system-provided include files being correctly accessed?
What DEC C and OpenVMS versions are in use here? Does this code
compile under DEC C on OpenVMS VAX?
