Ask the Wizard Questions

SEAGATE problems on V6.1

The Question is:

I have a exabyte 2400 attached to a tower that has Seagate drives
(st4150) the tower is attached to my vax400-100A system, When i do
standalone backups of these drives onto my exabyte the standalone
quits after a period of time. If i also try to do a full on the
Seagate drives, they will go into a Mount verify Timeout mode i have
to then shut my system down and reboot. I have a vax3100 that is
running VMS5.5-1 and i have attached my exabyte to this machine and
ran full backups from it across the cluster with no problems. I
believe it is issue with OpenVMS6.1 backup versus 5.5-1 since i can
backup those drives across the cluster. I have also installed the scsi
patch that came with OpenVMS6.1. Do you have any answer to this one?

The Answer is:

This is probably an issue with SCSI driver changes for V6.1. You will
need to contact your local customer support center for patch
    VAXSCSI03_061.
