zmodem problems

The Question is:

it is taking too long for my admin at school to install
zmodem, so i am doing it myself on my account.  i set it up
to be a command verb and i get it to run, but i always get
the same error message, bad data packet. btw, i am download-
ing via modem from school to my pc.  i have no idea what
setting to make on my account at school. please help, none
of the ones in the .doc file helped.

The Answer is:

    Make sure you have privilege to modify the terminal port
    characteristics.  Also, you might want to use the zmodem program
    provided on the freeware CD.
