Ask the Wizard Questions

UCX Cluster load balancing

The Question is:

Does a UCX IP cluster work like a DECnet/LAT cluster. That
is, when I SET HOST/LAT to the cluster alias, the "best"
CPU is connected. If I TELNET to an IP alias, will the
"best" CPU be selected? If so, is it based on LAT-computed
parameters. If not, I suppose the cluster alias timer
determines which CPU is used. The UCX docs are pretty
sparse.

The Answer is:

UCX V4.0 supports TCP/IP (telnet and rlogin) balancing in dns/bind.
All nodes cooperating in the load balancing calculations must be
   running V4.0.
    ...including the DNS/Bind Server.
