Ask the Wizard Questions

Disable mail from some sources

The Question is:

BatchMail. Its sending doubles of mail I don't want to read in the
first place. Is there any Program I can get or anything I
can do to my account that would either block email from
unwanted sources or to del the mail from secified sources
without my reading of the email. Here at PSTCC any student
can use batchmail for whatever they want so it is not
unusual to log in after one day and have 33 emails. So
any Program or anything to do to my account as in login.com
or any type of other com file to write that would delete
or block mail and send a email back to them telling them
that there email is not welcomed would be greatly
appreciated....Thanks for your time.


The Answer is:


   If you do not wish to receive any mail, ask the system manager to set
   the DISMAIL and DISNEWMAIL flags in SYSUAF.

   If you do not wish to entirely disable mail on your username, the
   DELIVER package is available on the FreeWare CD-ROM, and can be used
   to process mail.  Copies of the FreeWare CD-ROM are available at:
