HP is celebrating its longstanding relationship with the United States Postal Service with a
nationwide advertising campaign (television, print and interactive spots) highlighting the role
of HP technologies in the mail processing and delivery process. HP's relationship with the
U.S. Postal Service began in 1979 and has evolved to include a broad range of technology
solutions that today touches virtually all pieces of mail that move through the postal system
daily. With the help of HP Adaptive Enterprise and technology service solutions, the US Postal
Service is able to stay remarkably connected, a critical component of performing the colossal
task of delivering more than 200 billion pieces of mail each year. HP is involved at every
level of the US Postal Service. HP AlphaServer systems running OpenVMS play a key role in
scanning, processing and distributing each piece of mail. 160,000 HP desktops and laptops
provide the hardware. Web tools developed by HP help customers track packages, obtain
shipping rates, pay bills and order stamps online all at one place. And, HP NonStop servers
run the international and military mail automation for all the Postal Service's International
Service Centers and major international airports in the United States, and on U.S. military
bases in Germany, Korea and Japan.
