OpenVMS advanced technical bootcamp (May 18-23, 2008)

Dear OpenVMS Technologist,

On behalf of the entire boot camp team, it is my pleasure to announce the next OpenVMS Advanced technical boot camp May 18-23, 2008 at the Radisson Hotel in Nashua, NH. This five day event is focused on the intermediate to advanced OpenVMS technologist. Your instructors will be expert members of the OpenVMS Community. Additionally, we will be providing some basic and master level classes. In addition to numerous technical talks, this year we will be providing hands on sessions around OpenVMS on Blades (hardware and system management), New Storage and Application Modernization. The cost of this 6 day event is $1495.00.

This year as in years previously we will be several complimentary pre boot camp seminars for our pre-registered bootcamp attendees.

Please note that the hotel known as the Sheraton Hotel in Nashua was sold and is now the Radisson Nashua. Lodging and Travel are not part of the course costs. For more information please see the rest of this web page.

  • A signed non disclosure will be required for all participants

  • You are responsible for your own travel and lodging needs.
  • Registration is limited to 200 people
  • Cost is $1,495
  • Breakfast, morning break, lunch and afternoon break are included. Also on Tuesday and Thursday dinner will be served.

  • You will need to bring a laptop. We do not distribute presentations on paper (its bad for the environment and folks leave the binders in their hotel rooms when they leave. Please ensure you have the latest virus protection software installed on your laptop. Please note: We do not provide on site technical pc support.
  • Dress is casual (blue jeans are fine), please wear comfortable clothing these will be long days.
  • The best airport to fly into for domestic travel is Manchester, NH
  • The best airport to fly into for international is Boston, MA
  • Partners Roundhouse on Tuesday - a number of different partners showing you what they do and what applications they have (not a tradeshow). This is very informative.

To register via the web, you will need a University Student ID#. If you attended the OpenVMS Bootcamp in 2006 or 2007, you received this student id# in your packet on a business card. If you have forgotten this number or need a new one created, you may obtain this by calling 1-800-732-5741, Option 4.

Please access the site to book, modify, or cancel your reservation.

When selecting your room rate, you will need to select either the STD1 rate or the STD2 rate for the $110.00 plus tax rate. If you would like to book the Club Level ($140.00 plus tax) you will need to select the SUP1 rate.

If you prefer to call the hotel, please call Reservations directly at (877) 292-3672 (US Toll Free) or 603-888-9970. If you make your reservations over the phone, please be sure to let them know you are with the OpenVMS Bootcamp group so that you will be put into the correct block of rooms.

The cut-off date for reservations is April 21st. After this date the hotel cannot guarantee you a room or the $110 rate.
