The ALL-IN-1 Distributed Sharing Option extends the local file sharing capabilities to include remote users.
The ALL-IN-1 Distributed Sharing Option is an extension to the ALL-IN-1 IOS Server for VMS, V3.0. This option extends the local file sharing capabilities to include remote users. (Local sharing encompasses all users with profiles on a standalone system or cluster. A remote user is defined as anyone outside the bounds of the local definition.)
With the installation of this option, remote users can share a drawer or document with other user(s) on a remote node. The functions available are:
- Users can share Drawers and/or Documents. Access privileges must be granted to the user for admission into the shared drawer or document.
- Users' File Cabinet index operations will reflect their own drawers, locally shared drawers, and remote shared drawers.
- Users can create and control access to local drawers and documents with varying levels of access control (read, edit, or delete).
