Readme File: Prerequisites for Provisioning OpenVMS on the Supported Integrity Servers -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Prior to following the numbered steps, note the following requirements: * You must be running HP Systems Insight Manager Version 5.1. * Configure the InfoServer utility and the TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS BOOTP and TFTP servers on an OpenVMS system located in the same LAN as the Integrity servers that are to be provisioned; for more information, see the PROVISIONINGOPENVMS.PDF document. * HP does not recommend using vMedia directly from a DVD to install or upgrade OpenVMS; instead, use the HP iLO web interface to create an ISO disk image of the PCSI-installable kit, and store it on a disk on the PC or Windows server from where you will browse to access HP SIM. * Do not allow write access to your MP or serial console while the installation or upgrade is in progress. Deployment Steps: 1) Unpack the .ZIP file to a folder on your Windows server. 2) Follow step 2A or 2B: 2A) If you have file association set on your Server, you can install the plug-in by double-clicking on the InstallOpenVMSProvisioning.jar file. 2B) If you do not have file association enabled for the .jar file, run the following command from a DOS prompt: java -jar "InstallOpenVMSProvisioning.jar" 3) If your OpenVMS InfoServer or vMedia is properly configured, you are ready to deploy OpenVMS to your Integrity server: From the DEPLOY pull-down menu, you can select options for installing and upgrading; for more information, see the PROVISIONINGOPENVMS.PDF document.
